Start Up: 9.6 (workbook) translate this dialogue; assume the 'shopper' is looking for a tunica. You decide on prices in second half of story when they haggle.
go over translation and ask "vos consentitis?" with every response, follow up the class' 'ita' with "ita, nos consentimus" (as we have done all year).
when done, write the two phrases on the board and make sure they know what they mean
go through powerpoint of model sentences with emphasis on subject/verb agreement
consolidate the lesson briefly
divide into guys and girls; groups of three come up with five 'pro' sentences and five 'con' sentences (e.g. 'nos viri sumus callidi' and 'vos feminae estis stultae')
work until end of the period (will go over tomorrow)

review the statements written on board and lead into quaestiones by eliciting the difference between a sententia and an argumentum
go over quaestiones and hand out 'controversia est' sheet for the second half of the story - work on until bell
