Elicit ideas, write on board... decide on main idea as a class, then list all aspects of paragraph on board in simple Latin I sentences
Go over homework and ablative absolutes
review what we've learned this semester (Stages 24-31) and list in notes
Now, spend ten minutes rewriting the simple 10-12 sentences on board into sophisticated (Latin II, semester 2) Latin
Peer grading while teacher takes class through rubric... we're establishing a base score which we will work to improve tomorrow

STAGE 31 VOCABULARY QUIZ I
When done, turn these two sentences into one using an ablative absolute: homines multos clamores fecerunt. puella obstupefacta est
(based on the third paragraph of "adventus") complete the following tasks using as much original vocabulary as possible:
1. combine into one sentence using a result clause: ingens multitudo erat.  difficile erat puellae procedere.
2. Turn into an indirect command: mendici pecuniam orabant.
3. Change the following to the passive: crepidarii calceos faciebant, ferrarii gladios excudebant, fabri tigna secabant.
4. Combine using a relative clause: fabri puellam clamaverunt.  puella fabros praeteriit.
5. Do the same using a participial clause.
6. Using the sentence created from #5, combine with puella et servus ad Haterium festinaverunt to make one sentence with a purpose clause.

Homework: translate into English the last paragraph of adventus
